From Human Resources - Tax Form 1095-C Information

Dear colleagues,

It's that time of year again – Tax Season! You will soon receive your W-2, and many of you will begin filing your 2022 tax returns.

When filing your taxes, you will be asked if you had credible health coverage for the 2022 calendar year as part of the Affordable Care Act regulations. Rice provides your healthcare enrollment information for the calendar year on Form 1095-C. In years past, 1095-C forms have been ready at the same time as W-2s. While you will not need to include your 1095-C with your 2022 tax return or send it to the IRS, you may use information from your 1095-C to help complete your tax return.

In 2021, the IRS announced a permanent extension to the 1095-C form postmark from January 31 to March 1.

Form 1095-C will be available to Rice employees by March 1 either by mail or on the Paperless Employee site if you opted in to receive the form online in the past. Once these documents are available online through paperlessemployee.com/riceuniversity, we will send out login directions.

You can view your 2022 enrollment in iO by following the steps in this document if you intend to file your taxes before receiving your Form 1095-C.

Respectfully,

Rice Benefits
