Rice University offers a wide range of benefit options to all benefits-eligible employees. It can be overwhelming to review and understand all the options available. The benefits team has new hire benefits enrollment sessions every other Tuesday and Thursday to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Welcome to Rice! As you transition your employment, please understand that all benefits are effective on the first of the following month or the date of hire if your hire date is the first of the month.
For example, if you are hired on July 1, your benefits will be effective July 1. If your hire date is July 2, your benefits will be effective on the first of the following month or August 1.
Please coordinate your current benefits with this in mind, and contact your benefits team at benefits@rice.edu or call (713) 348-2363 if you have any questions or concerns.
