Complete these three steps to apply for accommodations:
Step One: Online Application
Complete an online application to begin the process of applying for accommodations. The link below will take you to the application center in our disability case management software, AIM.
Step Two: Current Documentation
As part of the application linked above, faculty should upload current supporting documentation from their medical provider to their file
Guidelines for Documentation of a Disability: This comprehensive guide outlines the information needed to complete the file. Feel free to share this guide with your medical provider to ensure all supporting documents are provided.
Step Three: Interactive Process
Once you have submitted the application and documentation, Human Resources may want to speak with you to understand your request better. This conversation is designed to explore your disability narrative and the barriers you are encountering. It is also a time to discuss implementing accommodations and engaging with your department.
In most cases, faculty may expect written communication from HR within 5 to 10 business days of completing the application and documentation. This communication will include either an eligibility letter, a request for more information, instructions on next steps, or a denial.
Once approved for accommodations:
- Faculty receives an approved accommodation letter
- Other appropriate documentation
